Any classical poets who wrote funny poems?
The poet has to be CLASSICAL! And the poem has to be FUNNY!

- Depends on your type of humor... Robert Browning wrote a whole bunch of poems that are really dramatic monologues as narrated by crazy people. One of the "funniest" of these is: "Soliloquy of the Spanish Cloister", which is a grim sort of humor, but is a monk's thoughts on another monk. The narrating monk HATES the other guy for being so perfect. Another slightly less classic poem that is somewhat funny is "The Dover Bitch" by Anthony Hecht (he was a pulitzer winner who died in 2004, and wrote the poem in 1967). "The Dover Bitch" spoofs "dover Beach" by Matthew Arnold, and mocks both Arnold and the Victorian culture. Also, any of Lewis Carroll's poems might be considered funny- look through Alice in Wonderland or Through The Looking Glass.
- mark twain and shakespeare i think but don't take my word for it... lol Shakespeare had his moments(i think)-lol
