Roses are Red, Violets are Blue

Who thought of the old "Roses are Red, Violets are blue" rhyme?

Well, it's not really a rhyme but an easy way to make a rhyme. Where did this come from?

  1. James Patterson.
  2. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roses_are_red,_Violets_are_blue P.S. It rhymes, so how can you say that it's not a rhyme? I think you mean poem, not rhyme, but it's a poem too. Just because people change the last 2 lines, doesn't mean that there isn't a standard version. You can see the standard version on Wikipedia.
