  1. one that u make up, dont do the typical 'roses r red violets r blue' crap, even if its the worst poem in the world, shell love it bc shell know u wrote it just 4 her
  2. I had to read this poem last semester in Creative Writing, and I fell in love with it. It seriously takes my breath away. by Edmund Spenser [One day I wrote her name upon the strand] One day I wrote her name upon the strand, But came the waves and washed it away: Again I wrote it with a second hand, But came the tide, and made my pains his prey. Vain man, said she, that dost in vain assay A mortal thing so to immortalize! For I myself shall like to this decay, And eek my name be wiped out likewise. Not so (quoth I), let baser things devise To die in dust, but you shall live by fame: My verse your virtues rare shall eternize, And in the heavens write your glorious name; Where, whenas death shall all the world subdue, Our love shall live, and later life renew.
  3. One that you wrote yourself. One that comes from the heart, and really lets her know you care. Those are the best kind!
  4. Strawberry is on the right track. Poems do not have to rhyme. They can be free verse (Google it). Write from your heart; from your soul. Don't be embarrassed if it sounds "mushy." Love poems are supposed to sound like that. If you are really that unoriginal, look up the different love poems, sonnets, etc., on the web. Although, not my original words, I memorized the words to one of Elizabeth Barret Browning's Sonnets to the Portuguese ("How do I love thee?...") and recited these to my bride at our wedding. It described, to the letter, how I felt about her, and...she seemed to like it. Then again, when I was in basic training in the Navy, I composed and wrote an erotic poem (without any "dirty" words!) to my wife (back home). She loved it! Showed me how much, too, when I came home ;-) Good luck.
